Hallyu or Korean Wave (Hangul: 한류; hanja: 韓流; RR: Hallyu, English : Korean wave), is a term given to the spread of Korean pop culture globally in various countries around the world. Hallyu generally triggers a lot of people in the country to study the Korean language and Korean culture. As we know that the Korean wave grows even bigger nowadays, and it rapidly attacks almost everyone in this world no matter how old they are, no matter what their races are, and no matter where they are living at. The interest of people in getting information and all about Korea are always there. People are attached and in high demand to feel the beauty of nature, culture, to see hallyu stars directly, to enjoy their foods and beverages, as well as their dramas and movies.
Understanding that people nowadays are having so much curiosity about Korean cultures and cuisines. It leads entrepreneur to compete in this culinary sector as well, by expanding their wings to open some Korean café or restaurant who sells Korean foods, and beverages.
One of Korean dessert cafés in Jogjakarta that I recommend the most is “Hanbingo Dessert Café”. This place located at Jl. Perumnas No.158, Condongcatur, Kec. Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, 55281. This café owned by Indonesian with some Korean shareholders. No wonder that Korean atmosphere is so tight once you enter this café. The meaning of Hanbingo itself is "Ice storage from Korea". They said that long time ago at Joseon's period (Korea's old kingdom) was really hard to get some ice or something that can be refreshing your day in the hot summer. So, there was a Hanbingo, the ice storage. Therefore, during the summer time Joseon's people always eat the ice together and share it to one another. That’s the reason why they chose Hanbingo as their café name. They want to boost up the customers energy and chill, also to get them closer to one another (friends, family, or community) by sharing the foods and beverages, just like what Korean people do.
Honestly, I’ve been visited some Korean cafés and restaurants here in Jogjakarta. But this place has really taken my attention. I fall for everthing here since my very first visit. The reasons why I recommend this place so much are because of the cozy and homey atmosphere created in this place (since it has a simple yet elegant interior design), they have a superb mini snow city, free to try Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes), delicious foods and beverages, affordable prices of foods and beverages, and also the newest magazines of Hallyu stars. Thus, will make you forget about how much time have you spent on this place.
So what are you waiting for? Ask your friends, relatives, communities and etc to use this café as a hang out place / base camp / rendezvous and so on and so forth, because this café is really worth to be visited. And the most important is that, there are so many promotions and discounts here. Go grab it fast everyone. :)
